Summer/Fall 2015

Project Onward’s exhibition program brings together an exciting range of artistic inspiration–from cats to cars to jazz musicians, and did we mention cats? Our feline-themed exhibition originated with Ruby Bradford’s collection of cat paintings, but quickly grew to encompass nearly 20 artists under the banner MUST LOVE CATS. Our annual survey of new and emerging Project Onward artists reveals a growth spurt of epic proportions: no less than 14 artists are represented in this year’s edition of THE ROOKIES. These kids have mad skills and a bright future, but they’re up against the veteran firepower of the three-person exhibit OLD SCHOOL. It all leads up to our major fall exhibition, WHEN I PAINT MY MASTERPIECE. Project Onward is an official partner of ADA 25 Chicago, and we’re celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act with a survey of work by artists with disabilities from all across the Chicagoland area, including our friends at Esperanza Community Services, Thresholds Bridge South, Arts of Life, Envision Unlimited, and Little City Center for the Arts.

All exhibits are FREE and open to the public, Tuesday–Saturday, 11am–5pm. Opening Receptions are on the #ThirdFriday of each month and offer a unique chance to explore the studio and gallery after hours. Enjoy drinks and refreshments and take the opportunity to meet our talented artists, from 6–9pm. We look forward to welcoming you to our Studio & Gallery.
