On April 21, 2016, thirteen artists from Project Onward exhibited selected works in the rotunda of the Illinois state capitol in Springfield, Illinois. In honor of National Autism Month, The Power of Expression event was made possible by ComEd at the invitation of the Illinois House Republicans. The twenty-two works in exhibited in the capitol exhibition were previously commissioned by ComEd and have been on display in their new training facility in Bridgeport.

The artists and their works were received with much enthusiasm by state legislators and staff as well as various groups of visitors. Associates from ComEd presented artists with Illinois House of Representatives certificates of recognition for their excellent work. Besides arranging for transportation, food and accommodations for the overnight stay, ComEd also arranged tours of the capitol, the executive mansion and the Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.

Many thanks to the ComEd for the planning, resources and support for this capitol experience.
